The 2nd International Forum of Intellectual Property "Expopriority'2010" includes:

Expocentre, ZAO and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation are holding the International Forum on Intellectual Property Expopriority’2010 from 7 to 9 December 2010.

The corner stone of our IP Congress (inter alia) is the issue of the temporary protection of IPR at certain exhibitions. Expocentre started last year implementation in reality and for the first time in Russia of Article 11 of the Paris Convention for the Protection of Industrial Property: «Inventions, Utility Models, Industrial Designs, Marks: Temporary Protection at Certain International Exhibitions». A document issued by the management of an international exhibition at exhibitor’s request, a so called ‘Exhibition Certificate’, will testify public disclosure of innovations at the exhibition without compromising inventors’ position in acquisition of exclusive rights for those at the next stage – in Russia, EurAsEc countries, China and hopefully in other countries.

As part of the Forum, International Congress on Intellectual Property will be held alongside the International Exhibition of Innovations. In addition to exhibiting, participants (manufacturers and R&D companies, including those set up and financed by the state budget) will be offered the opportunity to hold their expositions and individual presentations as direct marketing of their innovative products, technologies and services. The above mentioned issue might be an appopriate subject for foreign speaker to cover at the IP Congress (check Programme at our website, the first day, Section 2). We will be happy to hear about the situation in different countries about ‘exhibition priority’ from primary sources.

As to the 'trade mark' issue we are planning to discuss the whole case at the Workshop Image Hierarchy. Phenomenon of a Trade Mark to be held as a part of the IP Forum. Issues like trade marks' creation, protection, evaluation, promotion, the proper use of marks, branding, etc. are on the screen, and you are most welcome to participate in this part  of the Forum's programme as well. We believe it would be both interesting and beneficial to attendees. 

The Forum has gained for the second time the official support of WIPO – the World Intellectual Property Organization, and patronage of the Federal Service for Intellectual Property, Patents and Trademarks of Russia – ROSPATENT. It has also gained the official support of regional specialized organizations and national patent counsels/attorneys of different countries, International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property (AIPPI, Russian branch), Licensing Executives Society (LES-Russia), All-Russian Society of Inventors and Development Engineers (VOIR) as well as federal ministries and departments of the Russian Federation, major Russian and foreign companies, financial institutions, representatives of small and medium sized businesses, individual inventors and entrepreneurs of Russia and other countries.

The 1st IP Forum in 2009 attracted more than 2,000 unique visitors from 195 institution of Russia and 6 foreign countries. It counted more than 3,140 attendees of different events of the Forum.
