On April 21, 2014 Expocentre Fairgrounds will run the Congress on intellectual property - Expopriority'2014 as part of the International Forum of Intellectual Property – the 21st Century.
The Congress events are united by the common keynote subject – practice of legal IP protection in Russia and worldwide.
At the conference "Development of Russia's Country Code Domains in the Era of New Top Level Domains. Who knows the Internet tomorrow?" the specialists will discuss the trends of the global and Russian markets of domain names registration, new tendencies concerning protection of rights of IP owners in the domain industry, share opinions about initial results of priority registration in some new top level domains. Special attention will be paid to the Russian implementation projects of such domains as .MOSCOW / .МОСКВА, .ДЕТИ, .РУС.
Round table discussion "Internet Serving the Right Holders' Interests: Utopia or Reality?" held online will continue the topic of IP protection. The discussion will be devoted to the mitigation of illegal content in the Internet and to the government initiatives intended to prevent from IP infringement on the Internet.
The participants in the round table discussion "Development Prospects in Copyright Law and Allied Rights" will discuss a number of international agreements, managed by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), which have been actively elaborated by the Russian Federation but have not been signed as of today.
Among the Congress events there are seminars on IP Policy at Universities: Russian and International Practices and Best Practices of IP Protection at Exhibitions, workshops and Domains Trade Fair.
Representatives from the World Intellectual Property Organization (Switzerland), the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation, Foundation for Assistance for Internet Technologies and Infrastructure Development, the International Network Technical Center (INTC), RU-CENTER, the Federal State Budgetary Educational Institution of higher professional education Russian State Academy of Intellectual Property, the National Research University Higher School of Economics, the Ural Federal University, Jacobacci & Associates law firm (Italy), the Center for Technology Transfer and Innovations (Slovenia), and Expocentre ZAO confirmed their participation in the discussion.
Expopriority'2014 is the first stage in consolidation of two events, which will be finished in 2015. The result of this consolidation will be a large-scale multi-format forum, comprising thematic and exhibition programmes. It will run on 21-25 April 2015. 'Intellectual Property in Russia' is the largest and breakthrough event in IP sphere in Russia.
